About Jacqueline – Founder

Welcome to my website

Hello and welcome to my website, Child Safe Travel Systems. My name is Jacqueline and I started this website in order to assist parents to choose safe buggies and car seats that meet their needs (and more importantly) meet the needs of their precious little ones.

I will be providing relevant and helpful content around this topic for parents and carers, along with information on child development to suit the age and stage of your child, Pre-Birth to 12 years.

So feel free to explore, have a look around, and read some of the blogs on here. If there is an article that is not available yet on my website that you would like me to research and write about then let me know in the comments.

Also remember that just because I haven’t gotten around to writing about that topic yet, it doesn’t mean that I won’t!

So if you have found me in the early stages of creating my website then be sure to stick around and keep following me for useful content in the future.

Before I start writing those amazing blogs for you however, I would firstly like to introduce myself to you by telling you a little bit about myself and my life experience. Hopefully in reading this you will understand why I have chosen this particular niche for my website and why I am qualified to talk about it.

Jacqueline’s Story

Where to begin and what is relevant for you to know? I am guessing that you don’t want to read a blow-by-blow account of my life story from birth to 40 years old! LOL!

I should start therefore by qualifying myself to write about the topic of children. On that note I have worked in the childcare industry (in Scotland) for over 20 years. That is of course if you include the time I spent at college completing my HNC in childcare and education and the training in placements.

In terms of actual employment…. NEARLY 20 years from the age of 21 to the age I am now (a grand old age of 40). During this time I have worked in a variety of different roles and settings within the childcare industry.

I started working in private nurseries between the ages of 21 and 31, where I worked in a few different places. In one nursery in my hometown I was employed for 5 years. So I cared for some children there as babies, right up until they left to attend school. I got to see them grow up and also look after their brothers and sisters as babies.

Between the ages of around 31 and 35 I attended university to study a Biosciences degree. Don’t ask… I don’t know what I was thinking at the time either. Mostly I just wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. And I did, I got myself a bachelor of sciences degree and got to learn about something completely new. It was fun… not practical or useful knowledge in my life…but fun….

During college and university I worked part-time for a nanny and childcare agency doing creche work, babysitting and nannying as well as emergency nursery cover. Upon leaving university I decided that in no way did I want to obtain work in the field of my studies. Mostly because I learned through 4 years of university that I would make a god awful scientist in any respect. Oh well… you live and learn…. LOL

In not obtaining work as a Bioscientist therefore I decided to work one-to-one with families by obtaining work as a nanny. After going through a few roles I started working as a personal assistant for an older autistic girl in her own home. This began my journey working with children with special needs. I now work with a baby with Jouberts Syndrome, a very rare condition that affects only a significantly small percentage of the population. So small even… that many doctors have never heard of the condition.

It’s safe to say therefore, that even before doing any research of my own, I know a fair bit about child development!

Why I chose to start this website

Well… there are a few reasons… but to get to the heart of the matter it is mostly because I may soon be a parent myself. I will be married to my fiancĂ© in May 2023 and after that we are going to begin trying for a baby.

Me and my fiancĂ© met at a Christmas party during Lockdown December 24th 2020. Well technically it was an illegal Christmas party where we lived in Scotland. Hey! Don’t judge… it was a long and very lonely year.

Very soon after meeting we got together and very soon after THAT we moved in together. I guess after surviving coronavirus and a Lockdown we both believed in living dangerously. What can I say? Life is short and you gotta seize it by the short and curlies after something like that. Plus the fact that in living under the same roof we were not breaking the law by sneaking out to visit each other. LOL…

After that it was pretty much a whirlwind romance with its ups and downs like any average relationship. He proposed to me last year and we will be married in May of this year. We also decided very quickly that since neither of us are getting any younger we should start expanding our family very soon.

Anyway that’s about it for now!

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, please feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Jacqueline
